Talented Russian DJ Alex Devyatyarov has been producing predominately Trance and Progressive House music under the name ‘Santerna‘ for around 7 years and has been described by Solarstone as “one of the few producers today that can create analogue emotion in a digital world”. So when Alex announced his new ‘Clameres’ project recently, TranceFixxed were keen to find out more, and we were delighted when we he agreed to have a chat with us:

TranceFixxed – Hi Alex, it’s great to meet you!
Santerna – Hello! Nice to meet you too!

TranceFixxed – You’ve had a busy 2013 so far releasing numerous productions and remixes, been featured on the prestigious ‘In Search of Sunrise 11’ compilation and received support and airplays by an increasing number of global Trance radio-shows. What’s been your highlight of the year?

Santerna – Yeah I have produced a lot this year and it I’ve enjoyed it. It was a dream to be signed on Black Hole Recordings and to be in an ISOS compilation, so sometimes dreams can come true! About the highlight… this is not something that I really think about. I concentrate all my forces on the process and not on the result. I am just happy creating music and it’s really great when others enjoy it too! So busy working, working, working…

TranceFixxed – Looking back, what song would you pick as the soundtrack to your summer?

Santerna – Hm… so many to choose from! Probably my lounge tune with Vadim Kapustin, ‘Feeling Like The River’. It has a real summer feeling.

TranceFixxed – You have recently announced that you will be producing music using a new alias, ‘Clameres’. What can we expect from ‘Clameres’ compared to recent ‘Santerna’ releases?

Santerna – I was thinking about this step so much, and finally decided to create the new alias. I feel that my musical expression is much wider than Trance only. Of course I have already released Progressive House and Chill-Out tracks under my ‘Santerna’ alias but at this moment I want to start something special.

So my ‘Clameres’ alias will be for deep, atmospheric, Progressive House music with catchy vibes. I may use it for some experimental tracks as well. It will be a new step with my old experience!

From now on, my ‘Santerna’ alias will be for Trance music only.

TranceFixxed – Do you have a release date for your first ‘Clameres’ production?

Santerna – Yeah, the first ‘Clameres’ release will be a remix of ‘Escape’ by Jay FM on Macarize label on 2nd December.

TranceFixxed – Do you have any plans to perform in UK or elsewhere outside of Russia in the near future?

Santerna – I haven’t had any offers recently, but yes I’d love to perform abroad if the opportunity became available. Hopefully I will sometime soon…

TranceFixxed – Your ‘Santerna’ album ‘All About Twelve’ was one of TranceFixxed’s favourite Progressive House / Progressive Trance albums of 2009. Are you working on material for a follow up album?

Santerna – Thank you very much for your compliment! I am glad that you liked my album so much. Was it really as long ago as 2009!? I spent 2 years working on this album and I am happy that I got so much great feedback.

To be honest, I am not thinking about a new album in the near future. But maybe you will see an album from ‘Santerna’ or ‘Clameres’ again. Who knows…

TranceFixxed – Finally, what can expect from you in 2014?

Santerna – I want to build up and concentrate my forces with the ‘Clameres’ and ‘Santerna’ projects. I have already had exciting offers for ‘Clameres’, and under my ‘Santerna’ alias you will see many cool new trance tracks and remixes also. So big plans for 2014!

TranceFixxed – Thank you for your time, it’s been great to talk to you. Best of luck for your new ‘Clameres’ project and we look forward to hearing more music from you very soon!

Santerna – Thank you also. I really hope that people will like my new ‘Clameres’ project as much as they do my ‘Santerna’ music!
